So. You want to hire a piper for your special event but have no idea what to expect. Here, we have put together a list of questions we get asked frequently which, together with our answers may help you out!
Which parts of our wedding can you play?
Typically, we will play outside the church, registry office or venue as the guests and the bride arrives for the ceremony. We can also play during the signing of the register and at the reception. Some brides like to be piped down the aisle and often couples also liked to be piped back up the aisle after they've tied the knot!
We are having a Burns night, What can you do for us?
We can pipe as your guests arrive, call to dinner, pipe in VIP guests, special toasts or blessings and even pipe in the Haggis!
What happens in bad weather?
Experienced pipers are used to playing in all conditions, especially in Scotland! However, some conditions are really not ideal for playing. We are always prepared with our waterproof capes, although this does cover up the tartan!
What do Pipers wear to play at events?
Select from Traditional Tweed, Piper 1700's, Piper 1800's or Military Ceremonial. Have a look at the gallery on the home page to get a better idea. Take me to the home page
How far in advance of my event should I book?
We do tend to get booked up in advance, so we advise making contact to discuss your requirements and check the diary as soon as you have secured your venue.
How much do you charge?
Every event is different, so we usually tailor our prices depending on travel time, duration of the event, time of event and any other client requirements. See our pricing page for more info.
